Description	This replication package contains harmonized aggregate statistics and analytical results on labour-market outcomes among men and women in 18 African countries. The underlying household and labour-force survey microdata span 2005–2020. The study focuses on self-employment, private-sector employment, and public-sector employment, and documents employment composition, wages, gender wage gaps, and differences between the public and private sectors. The research team did not collect primary data. The underlying survey microdata are therefore not included in the deposit. The accompanying source documentation identifies the original surveys and their access locations. The deposited package consists of derived analytical datasets and Stata replication code.

Origin of Historical Sources	The analyses use existing household and labour-force surveys. Most source datasets are part of the World Bank Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) programme; additional datasets were obtained from the respective national statistical offices.
Documentation and Access to Sources	The raw microdata are not redistributed in this package.

The analysis sample includes employers, self-employed workers, private-sector employees, and public-sector employees. Sampling weights are used when constructing means.
