This public data release contains de-identified panel data from a cluster-randomised controlled trial conducted in rural Bangladesh (IZA/FCDO G²LM|LIC Project GA-6-803). The study follows a cohort of adolescent girls aged 15–17 at baseline across approximately 15 years, covering their transition to adulthood, marriage, and motherhood.
The original experiment randomly assigned 460 rural communities to one of three intervention arms: (i) a six-month adolescent empowerment programme providing educational support and life skills training, (ii) a conditional in-kind incentive to delay marriage, or (iii) a combination of both interventions. Randomisation was implemented at the community level and stratified by administrative unit and community size.
The dataset includes four survey waves (2007, 2011, 2016, and 2023) and provides longitudinal information on labour force participation, hours worked, educational attainment, marriage timing, fertility, and indicators of economic decision-making. Later waves additionally include intergenerational outcomes such as children’s schooling.
The data are structured as an individual-level panel with repeated observations across survey waves. Secondary units of analysis include households and children. The dataset enables analysis of long-term labour market trajectories and life-cycle dynamics.
All personal identifiers have been removed. Users must not attempt to re-identify individuals or communities.

| Intervention design generates exogenous variation in economic empowerment, marriage age, and education. The dataset enables analysis of long-term outcomes over approximately 15 years and across the transition to adulthood, marriage, and motherhood. |
