Researchers in development economics have made strides in understanding the relationship between gender, employment, and poverty through detailed policy evaluations. However, a key challenge is consolidating this knowledge and assessing its broader applicability. The Jobs of the World Database addresses this by harmonizing micro datasets to create a macro dataset spanning 1990-2019. It includes labor market and poverty information, such as labor force participation, occupational choices by gender, age, region, education, and wealth. This dataset serves two purposes: enabling researchers to compare their findings across contexts and identifying research gaps and unexplained patterns.
